Even as sales dropped, we stayed open for limited takeout at our restaurants. It was soon obvious that we wouldn’t be able to support our staff with the limited business it generated. And that’s not to mention we risked jeopardizing the health of our staff and their families.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][vc_column_text]We were devastated that we had to make the tough decision to close our six restaurants.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][vc_column_text]At that point, we weren’t sad about having to cancel our expansion plans (including two big leases in progress). We did not even think about being able to profit. The first thought was our 200 HEH Family members and how they would take care of their loved ones… We decided to empty our HEH Cash bank account and support our entire staff but it would only last four weeks. [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][vc_column_text]We started ODH because to provide a win for our HEH family, our guests and the DMV community.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][vc_column_text]Our expectation was simply to do what we’ve done for the past 8 years. We really admired what the bigger chains were doing to help so many people. Realistically, we don’t have the resources that they do but we do have agility as a smaller restaurant group. We knew it was time to “Ready, Fire, Aim!”

After ten days of closing, we launched Operation Deliver Happiness.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][vc_column_text]We use our strengths and advantages as agile restaurant group.It was about just firing up the kitchens and creating amazing food which provides jobs for our staff, food for the needy in the DMV and many happy customers to keep the cycle going.
